Need a bag in a hurry?

My daughter who has recently moved to Beijing to teach has asked me to make her a bag to take to work. I've found the pattern here and it's called the Lickety Split Bag . Not only was it very easy to make (it only took a couple of hours) it is also reversible.

To make it a bit more special I've put some velvet ribbon around the top of the pockets. DD asked for muted colours but this bag would lend itself for bright and funky fabrics as well.

I've also been practicing my free motion quilting on my new machine. After a few hick ups I think I'm getting the hang of it.

Happy Stiching

Where do you live? You've got a bazillion pools in the background!
That bag is lovely and looks like it would carry a fair amount of paperwork. Im sure your daughter will be very pleased.
The free motion quilting looks fantastic. Im still drooling over your machine.

Is that the view out your window? It's gorgeous!! Love the bags. Your machine quilting is great. My circles look more like octagons....very jerky.

What a great bag pattern -- I'll bet your daughter was thrilled! Your machine quilting is looking great -- I was just practicing drawing that pattern the other day at work. Kellie told me that it's good to practice drawing on paper to get a feel for where to go next -- I think it's really helping me!

Love the bag, it's awesome and the swinmmingpool too!
Isn't it difficult to live so far from each other? It's adventures but I would have a hard time having the kids so far away.

Big hug!
