I should have known better!

Since the world didn't come to and end on Friday (just kidding) , I have no more excuses not to tackle some of my UFOs.

Do you remember these blocks?

Well, I had very good intentions at the beginning of the year when I decided  to join the quilt along "Building Houses from Scraps". As I know my limits, I thought, that instead of making one house every day, I would make one a week. I was able to keep up for the first five weeks, but that was the end of it.

Since I have lost interest in this project, but on the other hand don't want to have to take these "orphan blocks" into the new year, I decided to use them to make a cushion. And since it's Christmas time, I made it into a Christmas cushion!

With the Christmas tree up and decorated, the gifts wrapped and under the tree, all I have left to do is wishing you all a wonderful Christmas.

Cheers
Vreni x

Your cushion looks great Vreni! And is such a great idea for using up blocks that once were the beginning if something bigger!

Ah! Good intentions! It happens to me too Vreni. I think I managed 7 house blocks but you are clever and what a beautiful cushion. I think I will make a few more and follow suit with a cushion and call it done but in the new Year when there are new intentions to be made.

Happy Christmas to you.x

Your Christmas pillow turned out great!! I love it!! We are slowly getting in the mood for Christmas here. The weather is awful, rain rain and more rain. Now preparing a 'portable' meal to take with us to my MIL tomorrow. Will send the envelope with patterns probably beginning of the new year;). But I have a feeling you won't be starting a new project in the coming days....
Love, Rose-Anne

Cute pillow. Now no more orphan blocks. Win-win!

When I saw your little houses I admired them but thought, "not for me". I actually downloaded the pattern but when I saw how tiny they were I decided they were just too hard. I think your pillow is the perfect place for your little houses. They look just like little log cabins in all the snow. Hard to imagine in the Singapore heat. Hope you have a wonderful new year.

What a great idea! Love the pillow and all the little snowflakes. I think I need to dig out some of my orphan blocks and see what I can do too.

What a great way to use up those orphaned blocks. And I love the little extra touches you added to turn it into a Christmas cushion... the Santa and the tree in the window, the snow falling.

Hope you have a wonderful Christmas filled with joy and laughter.
