Camelot

After a bit more than a year since I started, my Camelot top is now finished. I decided on a small border, although it doesn't really look like a border but more like an extension of the blocks. The blocks are all hand pieced, but the rest is done my machine. I used only two fabrics for the little corner squares as I prefer it to the scrappy look the pattern suggested. I think it's scrappy enough as it is. The top measures 70 by 70 inches.

I have also prepared the backing as well as the binding for this top to go to the Philippines where it will be hand quilted. It will take around four month, which really isn't long but still, I can't wait to see it finished.

Don't forget to check out Wendy's, Ailsa's and Martina's  "Around The Word Blog Hop" posts today.

Have a good week ahead.
Cheers
Vreni

it looks wonderful Vreni! It's going to the Phillipines to be hand quilted? Are you going to the Phillipines or are you sending it to someone else to do?

Vreni, I loved this pattern from the very beginning you started to make it, and now it turned into a stunning top! I know 4 months is a long time, but I just look at how fast the summer flew by. You'll get your quilt back nice and pretty before you know it :)

What an impressive quilt, and all the time it took to quilt it by hand - excellent!

Vreni, you're quilt is excellent. I don't know how you can part with it after all your work. Four months will soon roll round and you can enjoy your beautiful quilt.

The corner stones were a perfect choice to pull all this quilt together. What a lovely quilt and something to be very proud of.

Oh Vreni -- it looks just wonderful! I love your two-fabric posts too -- it gives the eye just a bit to rest upon. It doesn't seem like it could have been a year already either!

Hi Vreni! What amazing quilts!!!! They are all beautiful but I fell totally in love with one from your previous post that looks like a topiary. You mentioned it was from don't look know. May I ask where you got the pattern... did you order directly from her site recently ? Not sure if it is still active. I am nuts about making it and hope it turns out as gorgeous as yours!!!!! Thanks for the inspiration!!! Xoxo, Diana

Your quilt is beautiful Vreni. I'm interested in the hand quilting in the Philippines. Is is just one person, or will they put a team on it? I'll be very interested to see the finished result.

Hi Diana
Since I have no email contact to answer your question I'll try to do it here. Yes, I did get those Don't Look Now patterns from Kellie's web site but the topiary is more or less my own design. I did copy some of the flowers etc. from the big tree though. Try to email her; there's a link to a email address on her site. Vreni x

Hi Vreni! Thanks for the reply! Good to hear that her site is still active. I emailed but she hasn't responded yet. Thanks for linking to the pattern, I am new to this and need the step by step. But the more I look at your blog the more I want to make! Every one of the quilts I have seen here are gorgeous! Thanks again, Diana

Hallo Vreni,
was für ein toller Quilt! So viel (Hand-) Arbeit, das hat sich wirklich gelohnt. Mir gefallen auch die kleinen Corner Stones zwischen den Kreisen sehr gut.

It's stunning Vreni. I love that you have just used the two colours in the layout around each circle. I'm looking forward to seeing the hand quilting.

How beautiful! You must be thrilled to have this gorgeous almost-finish. I'm glad you're having it hand quilted, since with all the hand work you put into it, machine quilting just wouldn't be right. Now what are you going to do with all your free time?!
