Three Little Birds

Rise up this mornin'; smiled with the risin' sun.
Three little birds pitch by my doorstep
Singin' sweet songs of melodies pure and true; saying,
"This is my message to you-ou-ou.”
Lyrics by Bob Marley

My three little birds are not sitting by my doorstep but on a flower pot of sorts. I've made this little wall hanging for "Another Little Quilt Swap 4". The pattern is very much influenced by Kellie of "Don't look know". I've used raw edge applique (I followed Kellie's tuition) and machine quilted it.

On other news: we're off to Shanghai later this week to visit the Expo as well as to see the kiddos (not necessarily in that order). By chance both our kids are in China at the moment; DD and her young man in Beijing where they are both working and DS in Shanghai where he is doing an internstip. He will go back to Boston in Autumn for his last year at Uni. It seems our timing is really off considering we only moved from Shanghai about half a year ago. Oh well, at least we are all on the same continent for once.

Have a great week ahead.

Oooh Vreni, it is beautiful!!
How I miss you when I see this. Once I knitted a sweater for Robin with more or less the same image on it. It were only three smaller a little bit different pots standing together. I loved it as I love this one.
Enjoy Shanghai and the kids my dear. I have survived my oral last saturday, hope to have at least a C.

Thank you for visiting Vreni & it's lovely to meet you.
I 've just had a lovely time visiting your blog & adore your fussy cut hexagons & can't wait to see how they all come together. Love the 3 little birds tree, so sweet & I see you're also in the JC quilt along.
I feel quite bad as I haven't progressed any further than the trial block. I'm not keen on the way all the blocks are put together,so I'm thinking of working on mine as a whole cloth......maybe I'm mad, who knows? LOL
Have a good week, take care
