Made in 2012

Reading  blogs and talking to people it seems that everybody is in agreement that 2012 has just flown by. Like many others, I too like to reflect on the highs and lows of the passed year at this point of time. That of course also includes what has been going on in my sewing room.

Lots and lots of small projects (I haven't got pictures of all of them), made mostly for our charity bazaar, but not many finished quilts to show for. I did however finish two hand pieced tops:

This one I've quilted in the ditch already, now I want to add a bit of hand quilting with perle cotton.

and this one I'm planning to free motion quilt by machine.

Regarding New Year's resolutions: I have a dismal track record with those, so I don't even go there anymore. I just try to live life as it's presented to me and make the most of it and that includes sewing and quilting. If I see a new project that takes my fancy, why not go for it?? Life is too short to worry about too many UFOs! With that little insight, I would like to wish all my friends out there a very good start into the New Year and may 2013 be your best year yet.

With Love
Vreni x

Best wishes for the new year Vreni. You have made lots of beautiful things this year. I like your thought that life is too short so just go for it and make what you want and don't worry about UFO's. I think I'll try that for 2013 and hopefully along the way I'll finish some UFO's too.

Avery nice post and you summed it up well on new years resalutions I feel the same way . I love your Christmas cushion on the previous page and your tree is beautiful . I haven't been blogging to much I have been a bit anxious on my new sewing machine arriving and going out to our country home to pick the olives and take to to the olive press to get my oil for the year we had some periodicall rain so it was hard to occomplish the task which was completed yesterday I also orderd my machine a couple of days ago and my anxieties have been over until I get a new one LOL I wish you a happy new year and glad the world didn't come to an end so we can continue to quilt.Love the hand pieced quilts quite an occomplishment besides all the smaller projects for the year. xoxo theodora

Wow Vreni! You are so wise -- I love your attitude about UFO's and starting new projects -- I need to adopt your mantra! You've had a wonderfully productive year -- I LOVE your hand pieced quilt tops -- they're gorgeous!

You certainly did have a very busy year Vreni. Loving your version of tessellations & the hexagon quilt is stunning, love how you added the half flowers to the border! Looking forward to seeing what you get up to this year! :)x
