Belly Up!

So I finished my fish wall hanging! But if you look closely, you'll see there's something fishy (sorry, couldn't help myself). But honestly, can you see that the fish are upside down, doing the backstroke, so to say. Well, I decided to draw the eyes of the fish instead of applique them on and when I was about halfway done, I realized that I had the quilt the wrong way up. How annoying!!!
As there's no way I could remove the indelible ink so I had to keep going. So now the wall hanging will have to be hung up this way
but that means, that the air bubbles are going the wrong way!

Oh well, one lives and learns, hopefully!

Have a great weekend.

After seeing your 2 photos upside down still looks great. It is so colourful that it all works.

Hallo Vreni,
ich finde die Luftblasen steigen bei beiden Aufhängweisen nach oben.
Toll ist der "Fishy" geworden.

It looks great Vreni! The bubbles are everywhere anyway so I think it looks fine!

It's a great quilt! How lucky that it works either way. If the bubbles bother you, you could add a few more in of a turquoise or other blue, although I guess they would be quilted in--certainly not needed to make this work. Your fish are fantastic!

Oh, but I love it! There's so much character to this quilt. Makes me think of Escher art, where you aren't really sure what you're looking at, but it's really neat! I love the bright colors of it, and all the fish going every which way. Bubbles down below just mean there are more fish even lower, out of sight. I think you were just trying to make a point with your blog name... Oops! Well done!

First I didn't notice the fish were upside down, then I didn't notice the bubbles were upside down, it's so lovely , I don't think it matters!

anyway, there is a species of fish that swims upside down. I think.

I wouldn't have noticed anything 'wrong' had you not said something. The quilt is so vibrant and interesting that you just don't focus on the detail at all - just the wonderful colours and feeling of the whole thing.
