The last two Camelot blocks

are done and already pieced to the back ground fabric. I've chosen an aubergine with small orange stars from Kathy Doughty's new fabric line "A Wandering Mind", recently released by Leutenegger in Australia. I think it works beautifully. This choice came by chance as I was planning to use some beige linen. But when I photographed the blocks on an purple footstool outside on the balcony it occurred to me that it would work much better and would be  "less safe" as well.

As this project is coming to an end, my friends and I have been discussing what to tackle next. We agreed that we wanted to do some applique and after literary looking at dozens of quilts we decided on this:

Auntie's Green Garden

Auntie Green's Garden by Irene Blanck, based on a early Australian applique quilt. Lots and lots of work, but doing it together with two friends will surely help me stay focused. I can't wait to get started.

Cheers

What a great choice of background colour for the Camelot Blocks! It will make them shining bright!

There might be a Facebook group for your next challenge the Auntie Green's Garden, as there are many 'support groups' which you will need for this one ;))

The Camelot blocks are perfect on the purple. Much braver than beige and so striking. Your next adventure looks like so much work but will be fun with a group to keep you motivated. I started a small applique ants picnic quilt a few years ago and just can't get it done!

Your Camelot blocks are lovely - so neatly pieced. I'm sure you'll enjoy the next project too. There's a lot of work in that quilt, so it's a good idea to do it with friends. Have fun!

Your Camelot blocks are beautiful! I really like the colors and style. As for your new choice... Well let's just say that I'd steer clear of that one! But, if you're doing it with friends, that puts a much happier light on it. I hope for you that Auntie Green's Garden is as cheery and fun to grow as you expect it to be.
