I've lost my steam....

.... and I don't really know why. After moving house and then having family here for Christmas, I somehow have a hard time getting back into a blogging routine.

I have managed to organize my new sewing room though. It's quite small - again - and I had to arrange and rearrange a few times to make sure I made the most of the space I have. I think I'm now satisfied. This is one side of the room....

and this is the other. The room is very bright, which is good for working but not so much for taking photos.

My lovely medicine cabinet, which holds all my treasures, is now in the hall just outside my room.

I also have managed to do a bit of sewing. I'm taking part in "Another Little Quilt Swap" again. This time the quilts have to be the size of a sheet of A4 paper. I've been playing around with a couple of trees. Don't know yet which one I'll submit though.

I have also committed to make a few blocks for "Quilts for Queensland"  and this is my offering so far. I'm might make a few more blocks and then send a finished quilt top but I have to see how I get on.

Sorry, for the quality of the photos. I really, really need a new camera. I would have bought one a long time ago, if I knew what I wanted. I'm not really into photography (DH was always the one taking the pictures in our family) and therefor I really have no clue. On one hand I need something fairly easy to use but on the other I also want to get some good quality pictures. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
Vreni

Your room looks very organised! Mine is the opposite LOL
I like both your tree quilts, I have half made a quilt for the swap but don't think I will get it finished, I have over committed my self making a couple of sewing kits and a quilt for the flood appeals. And Tyler starts prep tomorrow so I have been sooooo busy.

Oh, I love your room! You have even put some quilts and pictures up on the walls! I am not that far yet. I am still in the process of shifting around a bit to make more space, it looks like you have made the best out of it! Well done girl! XXX

Your sewing space looks great. I love both of your trees. It would be hard to choose one. Maybe you could do a 2 sided quilt. Like mirror images :-) That way you could use both.

Hallo Vreni,
LG Doris

I'm embarrassed about the clutter in my sewing room after seeing how wonderful yours looks! It would take me months to clear it out and make it look like that. Really love the medicine cabinet and all the beautiful boxes on top (that I bet you made). Both trees are wonderful....hard to pick my favorite. I really love the modern blue quilt with splashes of bright orange.

I've lost my momentum too. I know how you are feeling. I love your sewing room and am a little bit jealous. My 'sewing room' is the room where we all eat our meals so I have to pack it up every night. Your work for the Qld floods is lovely and I like the tree on the left for the quilt swap best.

Hi Vreni, Thanks for your comments - it is great to be back on blogger. I love how organised your craft room is - mine is a mulit-function room for the next couple of years until our house extensions are complete. At least I know have a large Horn cabinet and cutting table which I got last year for my 40th and they store a lot of sewing things that were in boxes everywhere! I love your Pretty In Pink cushion - it is the centrepiece of a quilt I have planned out for Lily's room. I have all the fabrics and panels ready to go - just need the time to start! It was great to meet Kellie and I learnt so much from her at Corrie's workshop last year. I have the same problem with the computer - there are so many interesting, talented and inspirational bloggers out there I get so caught up looking at their work and leave little time for my own creative pursuits! Love all the biscuits you made for Christmas - I just received some wooden shortbread moulds from a friend who thought I would get more use out of them - your Farmhouse and Celtic patterns are beautiful! Your Joseph's Coat colours are gorgeous! See you again soon... Cath x

I love your sewing room Vreni and those two cabinets are gorgeous! I feel your January pain -- I'm having a hard time too. Everything seems to easily distract me. Love your Queensland blocks too!

Your sewing room is so cute!!! And the MEDICINE CABINET... AMAZING!!!! I also liked more the heart tree!

If you like my photos, (check the last month, about food) you can buy a camera like the one i bought: Canon 550D. It's one of the best in market (and not THAT expensive)

The light is always good for photos... so don't worry! next time just shoot from the balcony the inside of the room!

Many kisses my dear Vreni!!!

I loved seeing inside your sewing room. You have such great storage cabinets, and the medicine cabinet makes me green with envy. I like the blocks you've done for the flood relief project, too. As for cameras, I have a Nikon D50 and it does way more than I need it to, but it does it very well. Better than I know how to take advantage of. A friend has the a little dinky Canon and loves it. Another friend has a Pentax and loves it. I think if you stick with a good name, you can't really go wrong. They make all kinds of models, so go to a good camera shop (or two) and find out the advantages of each and which model does what you need for the money you want to spend.
