Scrappy Quilt

Very scrappy indeed! I've used lots of different fabrics, in a way it's a bit like my quilt history. It was interesting to see how my taste has changed over time; from country to shabby chic to Japanese and Chinese and then on to the more modern fabrics. Also some baby and kids prints are included. All is there in a "higgledy-piggledy" fashion! Not the most beautiful quilt, I give you that, but I've used a good part of my scraps. I'm quite ruthless when it comes to throwing out scraps, I only keep it if it has a reasonably size.

Next step: basting, FMQ then binding. Who knows when that will happen as there are already six tops waiting to be quilted.

I wish you all
Gong Xi Fa Cai
as today we welcome the year of the snake!

Hopefully I'll be back soon.
Cheers
Vreni x

I have just found your blog via a friend and I love it! I am truly going to make one of those scrappy stripy quilts. I am doing a Trip Around the World top at the moment to use up scraps...and I can't even see where they came from! The sad thing is I am still buying fabric...

Hallo Vreni,

Oooo. I love this scrappiness! Scrappy is always a favorite, and it looks like you included some great fabrics. Did you do it a-la Bonnie Hunter, with phone book pages as foundation? Or did you sew strips together and then cut them to size? You'll have fun quilting it with an allover design which will be just fine. Great work, Vreni! You've been a busy girl.

Your top looks lovely, Vreni! It's funny because I like all the style fabrics you just mentioned. I could make a quilt of each and still like them! Great job getting it done! Happy Chinese New Year to you!

What a good use of scraps, it all works together if you put lots of different pieces in.

Liebe Grüsse in deine Richtung,
