The "Bank of Mum and Dad"

is - as of today - officially closed with both kids now working. Can you imagine how much fabric I can buy with what we "save" from now on? The sky is the limit! In anticipation of this fact I've ordered myself a few little treats:

Note the Vintage Modern Mini Charm pack. I have no idea what to make with it, but I couldn't resist as it's too cute.

Now I just have to find my sewing mojo again which I have somehow misplaced a while ago. Last week we spent a few days at the beach  (in Kota Kinabalu, that's on the Malaysian part of Borneo, in case you are interested) where we attended a wedding and I was hoping that it was waiting for me upon my return. But instead I have brought back a stinkin' cold and said mojo is still nowhere to be found.

Yesterday I made myself sit at the sewing machine, thinking once I start I might enjoy it. I manages to make this shopping bag for which I found the tutorial here.

I was planning to make a few more for our Christmas fair, but I think I might try to make the next one a bit bigger. It's supposed to hold lots of stuff after all.

Till next time, when - hopefully -  I will have a bit more to show you.

LG Martina

Go with the flow Vreni, the mojo is still there, just having a rest. It will return when it is ready. Having a bit of fabric envy.

I think I just saw your mojo hiding! Inside that lovely bag! It wants you to get started with a small project, just for yourself... ;)
Woohoo, no more 'kids in college'! We still have a bit more months to go...

Hallo Vreni,
LG Doris

What fun treats! You have Kellie's newsprint too -- I need to get some. (If you search for the Boxcar, that's after the rental car we had in Salt Lake. the "gulls" made fun of me for not using the emergency brake, so Kellie had to add that to the fabric LOL!) Love that chevron bag!

Yihaa Vreni, I also knows what it feels like when children leave the financial nest.
Enjoy your freedom, you will find your mojo again, go and sit in your craft space and look at all your goodies and it will come. Enjoy.

You found some great prints! And yay for having some spending money again! I really like the newsprint looking one with a bit of an orange car on it. What's that fabric? Your shopping bag looks nice and serviceable too. So sorry you aren't feeling well. Pamper yourself a bit more. We all go through no-mojo phases. I'm sure you'll be up to sewing again, even if it's still weeks from now.

It is so hard to resist buying more fabric. Love your choices. I'm not sure the kids still won't come back for the occasional top up. I don't think the parent bank ever closes.
Sorry to hear you caught a cold from going on a holiday. I hate that when it happens. I think it is from sharing airplane air with so many people. Hope you feel better soon.

Hi Vreni, I really hope your mojo is starting to come back and your feeling better? Your stash additions are lovely and you are right, that mini charm pack is sooo cute! xo

Hi vernier! Thanks for your comment on my blog. I almost fell off my chair when I found out as well! Your comment did give me a giggle. Glad to see you're still very productive. Looking forward to working my way back through your posts to see what you've been up to. Love the fabric on that bag.
